New Economy

As of 2 April we have become the Commission for the New Economy, responsible for leading on economic development, employment and skills on behalf of the Manchester city region. Through our work we will continue to strive to improve the wealth of Greater Manchester to benefit businesses and the people who live and work here.

The Commission is in the process of developing a new website to meet its needs.

Our vision for Greater Manchester is:

We aim to implement this vision by working strategically with businesses, individuals and key partners at regional, sub-regional, local and neighbourhood level, with the aim of:

• Ensuring the best transition to working life for all our young people.
• Securing a modern, integrated and efficient transport network.

Focusing on each of these drivers in an integrated way will help to make a substantial contribution to the achievement of our overall economic vision for the Greater Manchester sub-region.
